The tourist season in Leidschendam-Voorburg will be officially opened on Saturday, April 16. That day presents Heritage Stage Leidschendam-Voorburg in collaboration with the Cooperating Watersport Leidschendam-Voorburg and the local business society MKB LV the very first Heritage Day.
Under the title 'Treasures along the Vliet' is a varied program is setup for all generations . For example, the first Heritage Day includes city walks, tours, family workshops, painting workshops, exhibitions and trips on the Vliet. Be surprised at one of the many locations!
Houtzaagmolen Salamander, Museum Swaensteyn, Molen De Vlieger, Huygens Hofwijck Foundation 'Beautiful Voorburg' Heritage Leidschendam and many other partners really will make the day. So on Huygens' Hofwijck you can crawl into the skin of Constantijn and Christiaan Huygens. At the Old Church you can enjoy the carillon and painting workshops. At Houtzaagmolen Salamander there will be woodworking workshop, Molen De Vlieger presents a puzzle walk. The Society Heritage Leidschendam shows a photo exhibition. And there's much more .... A historic bus and boats on the Vliet connect the different locations. Heritage Day starts with the traditional commissioning of the historic pump at the Old Church in Voorburg, the opening of the new tourist information desk in Swaensteyn Museum and the grand opening of the boating season by the Cooperating Watersport Leidschendam-Voorburg.
